A close look at the Nomad Pod for Apple Watch: Review
When I started using the Apple Watch, I was considering getting a stand for it. This was mainly to get the charge cable more organised on my dressing table as it can be rather messy on its own. However, the more I thought about paying $30 odd dollars for a pretty looking stand, the more I think that it just didn’t make much sense. So when I chanced upon Nomad’s 50% off holiday saver on the Pod for Apple Watch, which brings the price down to just US$29.95, I figured that I’d give it a try. Especially since it’s both a portable power bank for the Apple Watch and also a charge cable organiser. I’d imagine that this would be pretty useful when I travel for work too. And so I put down an order for the Nomad Pod for Apple Watch.
Nomad Pod for Apple Watch Review
The Nomad Pod comes with two colour options. Space Grey or Silver. I naturally went with Space Grey to match with my Apple Watch colour. I would imagine that the silver one would match well with the silver aluminium version of the Apple Watch, and perhaps even the stainless steel versions.

The Packaging
The Nomad Pod for Apple Watch came in a pretty simple card box box. Opening the box reveals the Pod itself. It also comes with the Nomad’s minimalistic micro USB charge cable which I thought was a really cool bundle with the Pod.

A closer look at the Nomad Pod of Apple Watch
The Nomad Pod is a very well made product. It has a very solid feel and the build quality is top notch. The Pod’s cover latches itself to the body via two strong magnets, which makes it really easy to open up the Pod while still having a tight hold to the Pod. It also comes with a spacer for the stainless steel version of the Apple Watch charger. This shows a lot of care on Nomad’s part to make it a really great product.

It’s also pretty straight forward to coil the Apple Watch charging cable on the Pod. But if you’re unsure how to do it, just watch the video from Nomad below.
Yup. It’s that simple.

Using the Nomad Pod
The Nomad Pod for Apple Watch is such a joy to use. It’s dead simple to use and really hides away the ugly cable mess from your table, or wherever you plan to keep you watch charged up over the night. And since it’s powered by the 1800mAh lithium-ion battery, it’s obviously portable and therefore you can keep your Apple Watch charged anywhere you want.
This is kinda cool because it takes away the need for a second charge cable which I initially thought of getting to be kept in my travel bag. But with the Nomad Pod for Apple Watch, I can just bring the Pod along and drop it into my bag every time I travel. No need to unplug the charge cable from the USB plug and then pack it up nicely in my bag.
The battery capacity of the Nomad Pod is also decent. It has so far allowed me to charge my Apple Watch almost a week of night charging before its depleted. And considering that the 42mm Apple Watch has a 250mAh battery capacity, that’s not too bad.
Final Verdict: Highly Recommended!
So yes. I do highly recommend considering the Nomad Pod for Apple Watch as an alternative to the watch stands. It’s been really useful to me and especially so when I travel for work. In fact, I’m kind of regretting not getting the Nomad Pod Pro for iPhone & Apple Watch instead which comes with a built-in lightning cable for the iPhone and has a 6000mAh battery capacity.
